About Us

Back in 2016, Don Jon founded and started AutoExtrude. A mechanical engineering student back then who was passionate about old and classic Toyotas.

Don Jon realized that plastic parts were getting harder and harder to get from the manufacturer since a lot of them had been discontinued years ago and a lot more were on the chopping block.

Realizing the need for such parts for his personal builds, he ventured into additive manufacturing and imagined himself making his own parts at home. He bought his very first FDM 3D printer, the Ultimaker 2.

Soon after, he showcased some of his creations via different platforms like Facebook and Instagram, and the community was in love with his work. He then turned his 900-square-foot apartment in Chicago, Illinois, into a mini-print farm factory. And there it was! AutoExtrude was born.. but was mainly focused on a single chassis, the Toyota Supra MK3.

Fast forward to today, and AutoExtrude has become a powerhouse in the automotive 3D printing game.

  • From a small workshop space inside an apartment in Chicago, to a full-on 3000-square-foot shop and warehouse located in fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada
  • From only having three basic hobby 3D printers, to a massive print farm comprised of state-of-the-art industrial machines. Our current capabilities include, but are not limited to, high-end FDM, Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), and Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) printing machines.
  • From a "one-man operation", to a full team of workers, builders, designers, and engineers working together in-house to bring ideas and parts to life.
